At our house we typically watch movies on Friday nights at the end of a long week or on Sunday nights to wind down and get ready for a new week. To be honest, any movie that holds all three of my kid’s attention for an hour and a half is a winner in my book. In fact, they watched our advanced review copy two weeks in a row. This comedy-adventure with an an all-star vocal cast including Jessica Alba, Sarah Jessica Parker, William Shatner, George Lopez, Craig Robinson, Sofía Vergara, Jane Lynch, Steve Zahn, Chris Parnell, Brendan Fraser, Rob Corddry and Ricky Gervais, releases today!
Here’s the synopsis:
“This fantastic, funny animated adventure crosses all galaxies to entertain the entire family! Sibling rivals from the Planet BAAB, brainiac Gary Supernova (Rob Corddry) works all the gizmos at Mission Control, while his studly brother Scorch (Brendan Fraser) performs all the superhero stuff. But when Scorch is sent on an SOS operation to the Dark Planet (otherwise known as Earth), from which no alien has ever returned — it’s up to Gary to rescue him, their planet and the universe.“
Jackson was impressed with the action in the movie while the girls and I especially enjoyed the upbeat soundtrack which includes music from Cody Simpson, Owl City, Delta Ray and original music composed by Aaron Zigman.
ESCAPE FROM PLANET EARTH goes on sale today, June 4, 2013 for an SRP of $39.99 for the Blu-ray Combo Pack with UltraViolet and $29.98 for the DVD.
