Our Disney movie collection is rapidly growing. While I actually enjoy the animations, I’m usually ready for a non-animated film to be thrown into the mix once in awhile. Luckily, Disney is excellent at both as is clearly the case with their lastest movie in home entertainment, Oz The Great and Powerful.
Recently released on Blu-ray 3D and DVD, Oz The Great and Powerful, a Walt Disney Studios film is a must-own for your family movie collection. This epic adventure with vibrant colors and sound features and all-star cast including James Franco, Golden Globe nominee Mila Kunis, Academy Award Winner Rachel Weisz and 3 time nominated actress Michelle Williams who plays Glenda the Good Witch.
In Oz The Great and Powerful, Oscar Diggs, a small time circus magician is carried off to the Land of Oz by a tornado. The people of Oz think he’s the great wizard they’ve been expecting. Fame and fortune are now within his reach. That is until he meets three witches who are not convinced of his identity. Oscar must sort out who is good and who is evil before it’s too late for the great land and it’s inhabitants. Using magical art, illusion and ingenuity, Oscar transforms himself not only into a great wizard, but a better man as well. The enchanting characters and creatures of Oz from Munchkins and Tinkers to good witches, bad witches, and flying baboons will capture the attention of young viewers.
Right from the start this movie sucked us in. We were caught up in the story and fascinated by the characters. My kids especially loved Finley the flying monkey but I thought the live china doll was adorable.
The combo pack (Blu-ray, DVD & Digital Copy) is packed with bonus features including:
- Second Screen Feature — provides viewers with an immersive experience into the lands of Oz
