Let’s face it. Those darn buggers are necessary for school, but they are expensive! Well, here is an economical way to get one which was posted by iMommies.
For those of you in advanced science and math courses, or with students in those courses, graphing calculators can be an expensive requirement. I’ve never used another brand of graphing calculator, so from a comparison point, can only say that the Texas Instruments brand is reliable to a fault (though they do melt in fire – just ask me how I know this!).
If you’re shopping for a Texas Instruments graphing calculator, you can expect to pay between $100 and $150, depending on the course/calculator requirements, and your own personal preferences. Thanks to an online coupon code and a few great rebates from Office Depot, you can purchase a new TI calculator for $50 less AND receive two free movie tickets!
1.) Check your course curriculum to determine the graphing calculator requirements. (If you’re not a math/science major, you probably don’t need the most expensive one.) The choices for graphing calculators are:
a.) TI-83 (Original Price: $99.99)
b.) TI-84 (Original Price: $119.99)
c.) TI-84 Silver Edition (Original Price: $139.99)
d.) TI-84 Silver Edition…in PINK! (Original Price: $139.99)
e.) TI-84 Silver Edition…in Orange (Original Price: $139.99)
f.) TI NSpire (Original Price: $159.99)
2.) Click on one of the links available from Items (a) through (f) above to display the product details.
3.) Add the item to your Office Depot shopping cart, and select Checkout.
4.) At the top of the Checkout page, click Apply Coupon(s) and enter coupon code 35044888 to receive 15% off your total purchase price. (All of the calculators are over $50, so shipping is free.)
5.) Enter your shipping/payment information to complete the Checkout process.
6.) Receive your new TI graphing calculator.
7.) Click HERE to print the first $25 Mail-In Rebate, and mail in with a photocopy of your invoice.
8.) Click HERE to print the second $25 Mail-In Rebate, and mail in with a photocopy of your invoice.
9.) Click HERE to complete the online Fandango Movie Ticket Redemption Form.
10.) Within a six-to-twelve week period, receive two-$25 rebate checks and two free movie tickets!
11.) Just to give you an example of what this looks like, if you purchase the TI-83 (the least expensive calculator), you’ll pay about $92 out of pocket (after taxes and coupon discount are applied) and receive $50 and two movie tickets…which equates to less than $30 for a $100 calculator!
Great tip! I required one of these in school because of that silly “higher math” thing that we engineers have to take. This is a great deal! Yes, it takes a bit of work, but if you save THAT much, it is certainly worth it!
