Several years ago we wrote a letter to Santa asking him to send us an Elf. The first year he sent a mischievous little guy named Wilson. We had so much fun with Wilson that we’ve been writing to Santa every year since asking for another visit. We now have three annual elf visitors, a special friend for each of my children — Wilson, Kaitlyn and Merridy. They usually arrive just after Thanksgiving so last week Jackson wrote his letter and sent it off:
It says “Dear Santa, Will you please send Wilson, Kaitlyn, and Merridy to visit? We miss them and want to play. Love, Jackson, McKinley, Parker and Mommy too! ” He “messed up” on his first attempt to draw a Christmas tree, hence the X in middle of the page. I love that he’s able to write his own letter to Santa now and can’t wait for the girls to write their own too. This year McKinley drew Santa a picture to send along with the letter.
Our elves are quite punctual. They arrived sometime during Thanksgiving night — Kaitlyn in a fancy new dress, Wilson in his snow gear and Merridy in her festive red dress. And they brought a friend, a reindeer we got to name ourselves. There was some discussion and the names “Cinnamon” and “Snowflake” tossed around. They quickly settled on “Snowflake” and I was impressed how quickly they agreed! The gang also came bearing a gift as they sometimes do — usually a movie or book for the holidays.
And it wasn’t long before they were up to their silly selves. This is a picture of them hanging upside down from the mantle. Even Snowflake got in on the fun. Not sure how he managed to get up there and hold on but it looks like the elves are teaching him their silly ways.
If you haven’t yet discovered the tradition of Elf Magic Elves you’re in for a treat. Your family needs one (or two or three!). Elf Magic Elves are mischievous by nature and tend to get into some trouble but it’s all in good fun. These loving little guys create lasting memories your family will cherish. We’ve got enough photos over the last few holidays to fill a whole album. Plus, we’ve had a couple of special visits from our elves. All three of them showed up this past Valentine’s Day and Wilson showed up at my son’s birthday party one year. You never know when they’ll pop up! You can see all the fun we’ve had with their Elfcapades over the last couple of years here.
