For the first time ever, I’ll be watching the Super Bowl for more than just the commercials. I picked a great year to become a football fan! My son started playing flag football this year and my husband is the biggest football fan I’ve ever seen. I guess it was about time for me to learn a little more about the sport. Born and raised in the Seattle area, I started watching the Seahawks games starting with game 1 this season. Needless to say, I’m SUPER excited for the Super Bowl! My hubby will BE there but I’m throwing a party at home. Despite my newly found interest in the game, I’m still looking forward to the commercials!
Coca-Cola will be airing a sixty second ad called “Going All the Way” which shows the magic that happens when a small but determined high school football player gets the opportunity of a lifetime. It’s a tale of triumph over adversity as a child that struggles to fit in recovers a fumble and not only takes it to the house but continues running through the streets of Ashwaubenon then onto Lambeau Field (home of the Green Bay Packers) where he runs the length of the field and performs a touchdown dance in the end zone. As he celebrates, the groundskeeper in the nearly empty stadium hands him an ice-cold Coca-Cola. Ahhhh, sweet victory!
This commercial will air in the second half of the game but you can watch it right here now! To celebrate the launch of “Going All The Way,” Coca-Cola will donate $50,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Triple Play program once the spot reaches 10,000 shares online. The Coca-Cola Company is a founding sponsor of the BGCA Triple Play program, which encourages young people to eat a balanced diet, become more physically active and increase their ability to engage in healthy relationships.
This is such a heartwarming video and a lot went into it. You can watch some of the behind the scenes filming in the video below.
