You might have seen this Duracell commercial starring Seattle Seahawk’s Derrick Coleman about overcoming adversity to play in the NFL despite being deaf. As parents, we want to teach our kids how to overcome adversity, whatever it may be, to achieve their dreams. I have an opportunity to interview Derrick Coleman’s mom about teaching kids to trust the power within to reach their dreams. She’ll share with us her toughest moments raising Derrick on the path that lead him all the way to the Super Bowl despite his limitations.
