Prom season is making me think back to my own high school days. I was a bit of a wall flower. All throughout high school I missed dance after dance — homecoming, tolo and prom. I was never asked out and I was fine with it because I was shy. Until my senior year when I decided I wanted to live it to the fullest. I decided that even if I had to ask out my own date or go stag, I’d go to every senior year dance. And I did. For prom, the biggest event of the year, I asked out a boy I had liked for years. He told me that he wished I would have asked sooner because he would have loved to take me but that he already had a date. When I showed up alone, he offered to have pictures taken with the two of us. I declined but later on we became a couple for 7 years!
I remember getting ready alone at my house, curling my hair and putting on the long silver dress. I felt good but I was really nervous. I wish things had gone differently but I was still glad that I had the guts to go by myself. I love looking at prom dresses and I had a lot of fun shopping for my own. I really love the navy colored one pictured above from JJsHouse. The color is gorgeous and it has just the right amount of sparkle. It’s something I would have been comfortable in.
I also really like this flirty ruffle dress though I probably wouldn’t have gone strapless though I would be more comfortable with that these days. The color shown is pretty but black or silver would have been more my style. This dress has a lot of color options as do all of the prom dress which can be found here: http://www.jjshouse.com/Prom-
If you could have a do-over, what would YOU wear?
