It only took four words to convince me that I MUST see the movie [amazon_link id=”B00GEKO51U” target=”_blank” ]Delivery Man[/amazon_link]: Vince Vaughn and Chris Pratt. Those two are comic geniuses and two of my favorite actors. I couldn’t wait to see how they’d work together.
“In this heartwarming comedy, underachiever David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn) learns he’s actually an overachiever — he’s fathered 533 children via donations made twenty years earlier! David soon discovers that the shock of his life might just be the best thing that’s ever happened to him. Along the way he discovers not only his true self, but also the father he could become.”
Brett, David’s long time friend and a former unsuccessful lawyer advises David not to look at the file of profiles of the children he had fathered that wanted to know his identity. But he pulls one out anyway, then one at a time, he selects one, finds them and helps them in different ways without revealing his true identity. He connects which each of these young adult children, each of them with very unique differences. While this movie has it’s comedic moments, it really is about relationships and self discovery.
This heartwarming story will have you laughing while tugging at your heartstrings. A definite must-see! Watch the clip below:
I normally don’t watch the bonus features on movies but I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes footage and bloopers on this one! It was cool hearing the actors talk about their characters and the script. Chris Pratt was selected for his part without even interviewing and Vince Vaught couldn’t have been more perfect for his character — he’s a likable guy that people are naturally drawn to. Colby Smulders was also excellent in her part as David’s pregnant girlfriend.
Finding out that he was a father changed his life’s perspective and priorities. How did having kids change your own priorities? How would you parent 533 children?
