My oldest daughter and I have something special in common. We like to eat out. Unfortunately, with a family of five, eating out can be a big budget buster. Almost every day McKinley asks me to go out for lunch or dinner. If I had my way, I’d say yes every time!. My hubby is the practical one that keeps us in check so we don’t over do it. Picking a place for our family to eat can be tricky. It has to be kid friendly, affordable and have plenty of kids options so that we can convince the kids not to order the Kraft Mac & Cheese they always try to get. It drives my hubby bonkers that they want to order food from a box when we dine out. We recently discovered that Denny’s is a great choice!
Any day that mommy doesn’t have to cook or clean up from dinner is a celebration! If there’s one type of food all of my kids can agree on, it’s breakfast. Luckily, Denny’s serves breakfast 24/7 and kids eat FREE on Tuesdays! We had a great experience when we dined at Denny’s this week. It was a very hot day and we arrived right around 6 pm. We were expecting a crowd and perhaps even a wait since it was dinner time. We also figured with the heat, more people would be eating out rather than cooking. We were pleasantly surprised. We were seated right away at a corner booth by a very friendly waitress.
Our order was taken in a very timely manner and our kids were thrilled with all of the options they were given on the kids menu. There were several breakfast meals plus other kid-friendly lunch/dinner items like pizza, chicken nuggets etc. with lots of side options as well. It was no surprise though that all three of our kids picked meals off of the breakfast menu. While it was Kids Eat Free Night, I still noted the prices of the kids meals, all of which were under $4 — super affordable! Drinks were extra but my kids are used to ordering water but are sometimes treated to other beverages. In this case, we let them order strawberry banana smoothies (Only $1.50 each!)
When the waitress delivered the very generously sized smoothies, she brought an extra adult sized one saying she accidentally made more than she meant to and offered it to us for free. My hubby and I shared it and it was really good! Of course the kids agreed and were so happy to have this special treat.
My husband also ordered breakfast and I ordered a sandwich and fries. The whole lot of us were happy with our meals and finished with full bellies and smiles. Our bill came to just over $25, another reason to smile! It’s not often we can feed our family for that price at a dine-in restaurant.
Denny’s is always open for breakfast, lunch and dinner for your family. Whether it’s a birthday, a sports win, good grades or just having a good day, Denny’s is the perfect place to celebrate! Don’t forget, Tuesday are an especially good day to celebrate because kids eat free on Tuesday nights from 4 to 10 PM with the purchase of an adult entrée of $4.00 or more. Denny’s is an affordable option for any family meal, with regular kids’ meal pricing at around $3.29.
