You know what’s really fun? Answering the door to discover that someone has sent you a cookie bouquet. It’s one of those things that just makes you feel really good. That’s why when I saw these heart shaped cookies I wanted to surprise my daughter with them. She loves hearts and I wanted to make her feel special. Her birthday is right in the middle of December so it always feels so jumbled in with the holidays that I try to the extra mile to give her a good birthday. Even though this particular cookie bouquet is more geared towards Valentine’s Day or romance, I loved the silly faces and brightly colored heart cookies and couldn’t resist.
McKinley was so excited that these cookies were all for her. But my girl has the sweetest giving heart and immediately started deciding how she would share them. This morning we sampled the purple cookie. She very generously shared it with the whole family. I have to admit, I sort of expected the cookies not to taste very good. I was pleasantly surprised! They are actually quite good. After his sample, Daddy talked McKinley into having his own cookie. He’s not that into sweets so that says a lot that he wanted a whole cookie to himself! Luckily there’s plenty more to go around!
