It’s amazing to me how drastically different children within the same family can be. My son seemed to take forever to learn to ride his bike. I wasn’t that interested in learning, really. He was 6 before he could ride without training wheels and that was with much coaxing, practice and frustrations both for him and us as parents. It can be difficult teaching a child to ride a bike!
My girls on the other hand were a lot more interested in learning. My oldest daughter practically taught herself. She’s the bravest of our 3 so it doesn’t come as too much of a surprise. I think that’s the hardest part for kids — the fear of falling. Training wheels provide a little bit of security but the bike can still fall and once it does, that trust goes out the window.
That’s where the ZumZum Balance Bike comes in. Kids are able to easily control the bike and learn to balance all by themselves. There are no pedals so kids can scoot to power the bike, pick them up to glide and put their feet back down whenever they want to to stop the bike or regain their balance. Check out the video below:
ZumZum bikes feature a unique lightweight frame with natural suspension made from sustainable birch wood. The design is simple and modern. It consists of just the frame and the wheels so it won’t rust or deteriorate. It’s available in two sizes” 10″ and 12″ alloy wheels, both with adjustable frame height.
ZumZum bikes will be available shortly on Kickstarter.  You can be one of the first to own one of these cool bikes. Each bike ordered on Kickstarter comes with an engraved Steve Peat signature — he’s one of the world’s most successful professional downhill riders.
