They say you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but when you’re a child who hasn’t yet learned to read, how else are you supposed to gauge you’re interest in what is beyond the cover? If I were a little girl, Aqualicious by Victoria Kann would definitely be one I’d reach for! It’s clearly about the beach and mermaids plus the colors are bright and pretty. Here’s more info on the actual story:
Fun in the sun becomes an aqualicious adventure when Pinkalicious meets a miniature mermaid in #1 New York Times bestselling author Victoria Kann’s newest picture book starring Pinkalicious.
Pinkalicious and her family go on a trip to the beach for a day of sun, fun, and sand castles! The day gets even more exciting when Pinkalicious finds a mini-mermaid named Aqua while she’s collecting shells. Aqua wants to find her way home, and Pinkalicious and Peter decide to help—after they show her all of the pinkamazing things to do at the seashore!
Not surprisingly, my girls (ages 6 and 4) really enjoyed the story and the pictures. It’s quite adorable and the story is unique. Now we’re ready for a beach adventure! I’m going to look for a small mermaid doll so my girls can have some fun recreating the story this summer.
You can also visit the ThinkPinkalicious website for more pinktastic fun. There are other books from this series that are equally fun! My girls love Pinkalicious!
