Before my first child was born I felt a strong need for a video camera. I didn’t want to miss any precious moments. We received a camcorder as a gift the Christmas before he was born and I have to say- the only things on that camera are the first baths of each of my two children and my son’s first birthday party. The content is still sitting in the camcorder, not on a disk or on my computer where it should be. Carrying a regular sized camcorder just isn’t convenient enough.
After my second child was born, I got a Flip camcorder which is much smaller and easier to use. While you can take stills from the video content during editing, it is mainly just a video recorder.
Canon has released the PowerShot SX210 IS, which combines the ability to take great photos & also shoot high definition video all in one. Talk about handy! If I had one of these maybe I’d be a lot less likely to miss the moments I want to bottle up in a jar and keep forever. Kids are only little once and even though some days I think I’ll go crazy dealing with cranky littles, I know that they’ll be grown in the blink of an eye. I want to savor them in all of their cuteness and remember every detail. A Canon PowerShot would help me do just that. Goodness only knows my memory capacity isn’t enough to store it all!
Canon and JuiceBoxJungle sponsored me to write this post, and talk about what shooting video means to my family.
