I hardly ever buy clothes for myself unless I have a child and need a different size or if we have extra cash, but when I do, I love to be fashionable. But, how can I be fashionable and remain within my budget? Here are my 10 money-saving strategies:
1. Use coupons! Join mailing lists in order to receive coupons for stores. Otherwise, search the internet for printable coupons.
2. Shop the outlets (and pair with coupons if possible). Outlet prices can be cheaper than shopping in a mall.
3. Buy store-brand . A lot of times I will buy my kids cute play-clothes from stores for cheaper. They are still cute and fashionable at the same time.
4. Scour off-priced retailers for up-to-date fashions.
5. Shop online for great comparable deals. Stores will offer free shipping codes or money off codes. Pair these with great sales for great deals.
6. Use drug-store money-saving systems in order to score free or very cheap make-up.
7. Borrow clothes. I borrow my sister’s clothes a lot of time. We get a lot of use out of them and are able to update our wardrobes.
8. Check E-bay or Craigslist. There are so many great finds on both sites.
9. Shop for next season. I constantly buy clothes when seasons change for the up-coming seasons. It’s so nice to be stocked when the time comes at a cheaper rate.
10. Shop thrift stores or garage sales. There is nothing wrong with second-hand clothes and it’s greaet to go on the hunt for great finds!

I shop at garage sales and thrift stores for my clothes also. Some people act like their “above” buying second hand, which drives me nuts. Last week, I got a really cute M.A.S.H. shirt with the tag still on it!
