A couple of months ago we checked out the Build & Imagine line of play sets. My kids loved them so much they’ve been asking for new ones ever since. When I told them that two new sets were available and our their way to our house they asked me EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. if they had arrived yet. Needless to say, they were thrilled when they finally did! We received:
- Pet Portrait Studio ($49.99) — This set includes four wooden dress-up pets in addition to the two wooden people.
- Fairytale Theatre ($34.99) — With 50 costumes and props this set spark imaginative play and storytelling.
Laurie Peterson is a mother and the founder of Build & Imagine. She noticed that toys involving building, creativity and experimentation were not very well represented in the girls’ section of most toy stores. She developed Build & Imagine magnetic building sets with female characters and details that will engage both boys and girls. While the sets are marketed towards girls, all three of my kids including my son really enjoy them and they have proven to keep them engaged even after the newness wore off.
The magnetic panels allow kids to build customized houses and settings unlike traditional doll houses. The magnetic accessories including costumes and props really add to the creative aspect of these sets and allow kids to really get creative and tell wonderful, rich stories.
My middle daughter was recently in her first play so she loves the new Fairytale Theatre set. She has proven to make a great director! This set is smaller than the others but is just as engaging!
My kiddos all love animals so the Pet Portrait Studio was an immediate hit. They also love having the pets for their other StoryWall sets which they tend to mix and match to create the perfect scenarios and stories.
Build & Image kits appeal to boys as much as to girls making them great for the whole family. I highly recommend these sets as gifts this holiday season. These are toys that WILL get played with!
