Happy National Cookie Day! Did you know that was a thing? I love cookies so I’m glad someone made up this day to celebrate them! The holidays are a great time for baking, making memories and sharing with friends and loved ones. It’s also a very busy time of year for everyone. I’m a sucker for anything with peppermint so I used the Krusteaz Buter Vanilla Sugar Cookie mix with crushed up candy canes thrown into the mix. They came out pretty good but tasting even better! Next time to make them a little prettier I think I’ll make a white cream cheese frosting and sprinkle more crushed candy canes on the top.
My daughter wanted to make some cookies with cookie cutters so next I mixed up a batch of dough using the Krusteaz Gingerbread Cookie Mix. We had a lot of fun with these and it makes a LOT of cookies!
We did a little test run with our Cookies for Santa plate. These will never last until Christmas Eve so we’ll look forward to baking Santa a fresh batch.

My hubby made the Oatmeal Scotchie ones the other night and they didn’t survive a full day! We gobbled them all up! I love how quick and easy they are to make and it doesn’t take a whole lot of effort to make them into a nice gift. I got the little gift boxes on Zazzle and some stickers to match. The boxes came with the bow to tie them. They only hold a couple of cookies but they are the perfect treat for special helpers at school or people you want to treat just because.
