I always try to put fruit in my kid’s lunches but they get tired of the same thing over and over. Crispy Fruit from Crispy Green is a fun alternative. It’s 100% natural freeze dried fruit slices. They won’t leak or get squished in lunch boxes so they’re perfect for snacking on-the-go too! Available in 7 varieties and less than 55 calories per bag, this sweet and healthy snack is a great alternative to fresh fruit and much less messy!
Choose from tangerine, apple, asian pear, banana, cantaloupe, mango and pineapple. Not all of my kids liked every flavor. My youngest ate the ones that my older two didn’t care for — she loved them all! My favorite was pineapple. Crispy Fruit has a fun, light and crispy texture that results from the freeze drying process so they’re more like a chip but with all the nutrients of fresh fruit! I love that they come in single serving packets making them easy to toss in the lunch box or grab for a quick snack before sports practices.
All Crispy Fruit flavors are also available in a convenient “Grab & Go” 6-pack – six single-serving bags (MSRP: $7.99) or individual, single-serving bags (MSRP: $1.49 each) that provide approximately one serving of fruit and 55 calories or less per bag.
Crispy Fruit is available online and in retailers such as The Fresh Market, Harris Teeter, ShopRite, Giant Eagle Market District, Earth Fare, Ahold, Schnucks, Dierbergs, King Kullen, and selected Whole Foods markets. I love freeze-dried fruit, even better than regular dried fruit. I’ve tried the Asian Pear of this brand and it is so good, If I could I would eat it every day, I haven’t seen the tangerine or cantaloupe in stores by me it’ll be interesting to find out how those taste in a freeze-dried form.
My kids love cantaloupe but did not like it in freeze dried form. Only my youngest liked tangerine. It had a sort of vitamin-y taste to me….
As a child I ate tons of dried apples, grandmom used to dry them every summer, and now I have to buy them ))) I’m glad they sell not apples but more fruits, that’s nice.
