I don’t often have time to style my hair but when I do, I want an efficient tool that I can count on. I’ve tried different curling wands so this time I wanted to try something new. I was intrigued with a YouTube video I saw that claimed I could get “mermaid hair” with the NuMe Pentacle Styler. It looked super easy and the end result was pretty cool so I decided to give it a go.
The Pentacle makes deep waves by clamping sections of hair sort of like an old school crimper. This produces much cooler results though! It comes with a heat resistant glove which I highly recommend using because this styler gets HOT! The ceramic coated barrel is made of a crushed gemstone tourmaline-infused ceramic which helps protect and add shine. I tried it out on my 7 year old because she has gorgeous long hair and I thought it would be easier to get the hang of using it for the first time on someone else.
McKinley’s hair is naturally thick, long and STRAIGHT. When I’ve used styling tools on her in the past her hair has taken them very well. To be honest, I’m pretty jealous! Her hair styles easily and HOLDS! Lucky girl!
It probably only took me about 20 minutes to crimp deep waves into her entire head of hair with the Pentacle. I sectioned her hair off staring with the bottom layer using a butterfly clip to hold the rest of the hair out of the way on top of her head. I think it came out really well! She sometimes achieves a similar look when I braid her hair when it’s wet. The waves don’t start as close to the crown though and I like this look a lot better.
To finish off the style, I did a small loose side braid in the front and pinned it under her hair on the side to keep it out of her face. I can’t wait to try the Pentacle on my own hair as well as my other daughter’s! I like having different styling options when time allows and this one is definitely a keeper!
Another thing I think is cool about the Pentacle is that the barrel can be locked closed so you can use it as a large barrel styling wand as well. I’m not sure my hair will take such large curls but it’s another option to try making the Pentacle a versatile tool. The Pentacle comes beautifully boxed making it great for gift giving too!
