Happy Mother’s Day from Mommies with Cents & zulily!

Well I think I’m ready to toot my own horn finally. I am a mom of 2 grown sons now. I spent my life doing all the right things for them and others to make everyone happy. For the last 10 years I’ve had Diabetes, for 25 yrs. Arthritis and now at age 60 I just got diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. So now I am so proud that I did indeed lead a nice life thinking only of others. I hope my kids will carry on the same way as they were taught. Anyway, I went to Zulily’s website and they have some amazing things to offer. I love this one and it’s on sale!
Coral & Red Cassandra Zigzag Buckle Clutch! That is the cutest pattern I’ve ever seen.
My mom is my protector! She saved me from stray dog barking at me when I was a toddler and I was crying. This was some 30 odd years ago, and I still vividly remember my mom protecting me 🙂
I love how my mother held my hand when I was a little. I love how she took care of me. Always her, never a baby sitter. She also always took good care of her appearance. Her beauty went everywhere she went
My mom is my inspiration! She divorced my dad in the 80s when it wasn’t the “in” thing to do because of an emotionally/mentally abusive marriage. She had been a stay at home mom and had to go out and find a job that would also allow her to be home with us kids in the evenings. Luckily she did have her degree and started teaching. She raised my sister and I on her own with just the little child support she received from my dad. About 5 years later, she met a man who she thought might be the one and ended up pregnant with my brother. As soon as he found out, he left her! Not once did she complain – she took it all in stride and continued raising the now 3 of us. We never went without – although I’m sure she did! She has stood by me, encouraged me, warned me (even when I didn’t listen) and made it through my teenage years without killing me! 🙂 Because of her, I graduated from high school and then college all while a single mom myself (I had my 1st child at 17 right before my senior year in HS). Without her support, I don’t know that I would have been able to do it by myself. She is my best friend and we now live about 2 blocks apart! My daughter stays most Saturday nights at her house (this is the ONLY place she will stay without mommy and daddy with her – she doesn’t like to be apart from us!).
My mother has been an amazing role model in my life. Last year, we decided to do a round of IVF to try to conceive. My mother loaned me money when we got towards the end and still needed more medicine. But she also supported us emotionally. She is a teacher and she does an amazing job with her students. When I see her with her grandchildren, I just smile. She nurtures their hearts and minds.
My daughter Dana is such a wonderful Mom and I admire her so much,,she works full time as does her husband, she has two boys age 8 and 10,,,three years ago a family member lost custody of her two children ages 1 and 3,,my daughter and her husband took them to keep them out of foster care,,since they aren’t foster parents they got no help from the state,,just custody of the kids,,they found out about 6 months later that the 3 yr old boy has austism,,it was so hard on everyone,,both were in diapers,,and they had to pay a babysitter since the big boys were already in school…the birth mom totally out of the picture,,so 3 yrs later they were able with help from friends and family to afford to adopt them,,they are loved,,the little girl is such a little diva,,my Daughter is such a inspiration,,taking in two kids and one with special needs and a huge financial stuggle,,they don’t have much but they gave those kids a home and a family
My mom is incredibly inspiring. She gave up her career in science to stay home with us and we owe her so much. Because she stayed home, she was very involved in the schools. My mom has her phD in Physiology and Biophysics so in the 5th grade my mom led all of the dissections in my classroom. The most memorable dissection was definitely the cow eye. To this day, friends from elementary school talk about dissecting cow eyes with my mom!
I want to win for my sister 🙂 I’m a new proud Uncle. Baby Hunter is so cute and I’m loving every second that I get to hang out with him <3
I really have two moms…my late mother and my mother-in-law. I feel very blessed to be part of my husband’s family. My own mother was born in Sweden and was always a very loving and caring person to everyone she came across. She taught me so much about life and many skills. Despite a lot of hardships in her life, like losing my father at a young age, she always made her home so warm and inviting. Everything was handmade! She baked from scratch as well as cooked all the traditional foods from her country. She sewed, painted, gardened and made all kinds of crafts. She taught me all of these skills with gentle patience starting when I was very young. My mother-in-law is Italian and very much like a second mother to me. She has never made me feel small but only supported me in everything I do in life. I am trying to pay both of these remarkable women back by being the best grandmother ever!
My mom is always helping others. I have two children with Autism. We have had some really tough times in the last few weeks and I would not have gotten through without her. Because of this, I didn’t have time or energy to get her anything for Mother’s Day. Not only was she understanding, but she brought ME a Mother’s Day gift.
my mom has been someone i can always call and she will drop what she is doing and come running. she is also such a support system for me and is my best friend. she helped me out immensely when i was a single mom.
my mom inspires me. she worked with special needs kids and adopted three kids too. she is a very caring person.
My mom is great. She has 5 children and even though 4 out of 5 are adults she still puts her children’s needs before her own.
She gave me a love of cooking that has passed on to my children.
my mom inspires me in each and everything
My mom is my best friend. She has done everything for me and absolutely nothing for herself. When growing up we didn’t have a lot of money. My mom pushed herself to succeed and save as much as she could even when times were tough and my father was out of a job. She put every penny away that she could to put me through college so that I could have the opportunities that she did not have for herself. She even invested money in stocks for me and surprised me with this once I graduated to help kickstart my life as a married woman, out of her home. I would love to win this to be able to give something back to her for all she has done for me!
My mom has been there for me through thick and thin. I have had some serious problems due to my mental illness. It all started while I was in the Navy and I was 2,000 miles away and in a very hard school I also had an emotionally abusive fiancée that changed a lot on me once my illness was triggered. My mom would talk to me everyday on the phone and encourage me that everything was okay and that I should leave my fiancée if he was degrading me in the ways he was. I didn’t listen to her at the time and had many more issues until I got myself stabilized and a lot better. I ended up getting out of the Navy medically and went on the attend Auburn University. Unfortunately there, I also had a terrible bout of depression. I obviously had not gotten my medicines perfect yet. She talked to me every day on the phone there and kept me straight even when I started to say some crazy things and ideas. I eventually came home after two semesters and ended up on some more trouble when I moved in with my friend. I’m now a lot better… The best I’ve been in years due to my mom and the rest of my family’s support. She dealt with so much chaos with me and stood by my side through it all and even when she was dealing with other things. I’m so grateful to have her and her love, support and encouragement. If I didn’t, who knows where I’d be today.
My beautiful Mother is my inspiration. My Dad passed away suddenly at the age of 34 leaving her with 4 children to raise on her own. A few years later she met my second Dad and combined families. Now there were 6 kids to raise. She did an amazing job. Sadly we lost her almost 14 years ago and I miss her dearly every day. My second inspiration is my daughter in law who has given me 2 grandsons and a granddaughter on the way! She is so patient with these boys and they are such good boys! Looking forward to more!!
My mom is amazing!! She has really been through some heavy…stuff. But she is still incredibly selfless, passionate…take your pick. She is my hero,
