Did you know that only 28% of dinners include a vegetable? I’m not surprised because I’m completely guilty. I got tired of buying veggies that I’d just end up scrapping into the garbage every night after dinner. Dinner time battles with kids are not fun but I acknowledge that I should try a little harder to get some vegetables into my kids diets. Luckily Birds Eye has come up with a way to make veggies fun and more appealing to kids. They’ve incorporated veggies with Disney character shaped pasta and delicious sauce to entice kids to eat better.
The new products include:
- Yoda shaped pasta & broccoli in white cheese sauce
- R2D2 shaped pasta & green beans in marinara sauce
- Spiderman shaped pasta & broccoli in yellow cheese sauce
- Avengers shaped whole grain pasta & peas in butter sauce
These are in addition to other characters that were already in the line up including Disney’s Cars and Disney’s Frozen. As the kids head back to school this fall my goal is to get more organized and to come up with a variety of nutritious meals my family will eat. These Birds Eye products are the perfect, simple side dish to accompany all sorts of entrees. They take just minutes to make in the microwave making them great for busy families like mine.
My kids like the cheese sauce varieties the best and I have to agree. I enjoy these ones myself! The character shaped pasta is cute too! My freezer will stay stocked with these quick and easy sides that offer a fun way to eat veggies! Birds Eye wants to help families reach the goal of at least one veggie with every meal. We like carrot sticks with lunch and we do a lot of green smoothies for breakfast that are made with spinach. Sometimes you have to think outside the box, especially when your kids are picky!
