My kids are tech junkies and spend far too much time on screens. Anything I can find to interest them in non-screen activities is a win! Barron’s Books are my go-to screen time busters. They love the variety of activities they offer. Seriously, check these out!
My littlest loves these new “My First Activity Books”. She’s in kindergarten and since they are designed for ages 3-6 they’re perfect for her! She’s practicing counting at school so the dot-to-dot book is really helping her practice her counting skills as well as her motor and writing skills! The maze book is helping her develop strategic thinking. Little kids will love these books because they can join in the fun and find the answers all by themselves.
My older kids love a good challenge and they especially like the timed challenge books that Barron’s offers! These activity books are perfect for kids who like to kick things up a notch. The only question is . . . are they up to the test? These books are designed for ages 8 and up. Choose from Spot the Difference challenges and Challenging Picture Puzzles. There’s also a book of Challenging Coloring with intricate details to color.
Last but not least, kick your coloring up a notch (or 3!) with 3D Colorscapes. This series of books lets you build your own amazing three-dimensional playsets. Whether it’s a world-famous ballet or a woodland filled with fairies and elves, your child will spend hours coloring, creating, and playing. Twenty-four double-sided, press-out card sheets allow kids to put together many different card combinations to create their very own scenes.
First, color and set up your base. Then color the scenes you want to use. Slide them into the base to create these really cool three dimensional scenes.
The pages have punch out parts so that you can see through to the pages set up behind it. The pages are thick so whatever coloring utensil you use will not bleed through. A ballet themed book is also available with scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker.
