We aren’t a homeschool family but that doesn’t mean we don’t do any learning at home! Each of my kids have different interests. My middle child has insatiable curiosity and is always full of questions about EVERYTHING. My oldest has an interest in coding and building things. My youngest is very creative and artistic. Outschool has live online classes to fuel independent learning at home — something for each of them! With over 1000 classes offered by more than 200 teachers, there’s something for everyone.
Outschool offers a broad range of classes from core academics to enrichment and practical skills for every age group and subject. Whether you’re looking to cover or review core subjects or offer your kids a little something more to accelerate their learning, Outschool has you covered. All classes meet via video group chats.
Here are a few of the classes currently being offered that caught my eye for my own kids:
Competitive Mathematics for Grades 5 & 6 — This class is based on the syllabus used by the “Competitive Mathematics for Gifted Students” series and is taught by one of it’s authors. This class does have some prerequisites and the purchase of a level 3 workbook is expected. Each live class is 75 minutes long plus 4+ hours of independent work. Jackson does very well in math and could use a challenge — this class sounds perfect!
Creative Writing: Building a Short Story — This class is for ages 8-13. It meets once per week for 6 weeks and teaches kids how to craft a short story. My oldest daughter has a great imagination and loves to write. This class should help her develop her writing skills and inspire her to put pen to paper.
Reading Rock Stars — Her teachers at school assure me she is on track but reading is such an important skill I want to help my youngest excel and develop a natural love of reading. This class is for ages 6-8 and meets once per week for 12 week.
These are just a few of the current classes being offered that caught my eye. Beginning foreign language classes could give my kids a jump start and there are many to choose from. “Playing Guitar Like a Rock Star” and “The Game of Songwriting” are classes my music loving daughter might be interested in for the future. “Coding Kidz: Programing with Scratch” would be another great class to get my son involved in and drawing classes for my little one would definitely make the list. So many classes to get my kids excited about learning!
Outschool offers an opportunity to learn at home by connecting students and teachers in a unique learning environment. It’s a great option for homeschoolers as well as students that attend school outside of the home. With online classes, learners are not limited by the offerings of their local school or community. And group classes offer a lower price point than private tutoring. It’s win-win for everyone! Find a class to enroll in today!

This is pretty interesting because I have been wanting to search for extra help for one of my grandboys, I know he could use the help in math.
