There are so many opportunities for giving during the holiday season. For families that are struggling themselves, the gift of time is a great option. Another wonderful option is making purchases that make contributions to charities or organizations. This month, zulily is celebrating National Family Literacy Month by teaming up with Penguin Random house to help those impacted by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
Check out the first ever interactive book fair now though December 10th. Six different sales events will feature a curated selection of children’s books. For every book purchased, a book will be donated from Penguin Random House to First Book, a nonprofit that provides new books and other essentials to children in need and helps aid teachers students and schools affected by the hurricanes.
Customers can shop the ongoing interactive book fair via the “Buy One, Give One” badge highlighted on the website and on featured books found in select events. Can’t afford a purchase? You can still help! Each week zulily fans can visit zulily’s owned social channels to activate a call to action, through comments or shares to spark the “Give One” donation from Penguin Random House to First Book. For example, a donation will be made when fans comment on zulily’s Facebook post about their favorite childhood stories.
I love this time of year and all the different ways we can make a difference and help others. Join me in this opportunity to help get books back into the hands of the children who have recently lost so much.
