If there was ever a product I feel like was made just for me it would be the Kwilt Shoebox Mini. Photos have always been very important to me but when I became a mom they became even more precious. I realized when my son was a baby that I didn’t have a good system for preserving my digital photos. My computer which stored my images started not working and I was worried my photos would get stuck on it forever and I wouldn’t be able to access them. Over the years I’ve tried many different methods for back up my photos but none of them have had all of the features I need until I got a Kwilt Shoebox Mini.
Cloud services have a lot of great features but I didn’t like that feeling of insecurity not knowing exactly where my photos were. Plus, the monthly fees weren’t something I wanted to pay for the rest of my life. I started backing up my photos from my phone to a thumb drive but then I didn’t have easy access to them. Kwilt Shoebox Mini offers the best of both worlds and then some.
Kwilt Shoebox Mini costs just $59 and doesn’t have any monthly fees. It wirelessly backs up your photos and videos to any external drive or USB memory stick to a private, personal cloud at home. It even comes with a 32 GB memory stick to get you started! It’s super easy to set up. Just plug in the Kwilt Mini to any outlet in your home, plug in the USB memory stick and download the free Kwilt app to your phone or tablet. Once installed it will walk you through a couple of quick steps to connect it to your home’s WiFi. Then you can send your photos and videos to your shoebox to free up storage on your device! You’ll still have access to all of your photos via the app and you can access them online from your computer too! These aren’t low res files, they’re full sized so you don’t lose any quality.
For me these features are what sold me on this product but there’s more! I like to think of them as bonus features! Your photos are automatically organized so you can find them easily by date, location and more. You can also edit your photos right in the app, send them to anyone in a number of different ways, and view them on your television! The device comes with an HDMI adapter (you’ll need to provide the cord) so that it can connect to your TV. That’s a lot of features for one low price and I am so thrilled to have found this solution to my photo storage needs!
