I know I can’t be the only mom that struggles to offer healthy snacks for her kids. We fall into a rut and tend to eat a lot of crackers and granola bars. We are on the run a LOT with three kids in sports so need grab-able items for on-the-go. I’ve always got my eye out for nutritious options that my picky kids will eat. My kids love Pistachio Chewy Bites from Setton Farms and I love that one serving (2 “bites”) has 5 grams of protein — fuel for my athletes!
Setton Farms is a family owned business based in California’s Central Valley and are the 2nd largest producer and processor of pistachios in the United States. Started as a small bakery in Brooklyn in 1959, it expanded to growing pistachios in 1987. Their processing plant has a 1.7MW solar power system and their post-harvest operations is 100% solar powered. Their products range from plain pistachios to flavored pistachios to their iconic Pistachio Chewy Bites.
Pistachio Chewy Bites are gluten and dairy free and non-GMO. They made with maple brown rice syrup and 100% natural. They are a good source of dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals and as I’ve mentioned, contain 5 grams of protein per serving. They do not contain trans fat or cholesterol making them a heart healthy option!
