There are tea drinkers and there are coffee drinker. These people drink their beverage of choice daily, without fail. I like both tea and coffee but I tend to go through spurts. I’ll drink tea daily for a few weeks and then not drink it for months. I drink coffee more frequently but can go without it. Thanks to Adagio Teas, I am currently on a tea spurt. I was really excited when they gave me a shopping credit and let me go wild. I had such a hard time choosing because so many of their teas sounded amazing. I edited my cart many times before deciding the more the merrier — I ended up getting sample sizes of a bunch of different teas plus a couple of gift sets and I am so glad I did!
The sample packets are generously sized and the pouch has a convenient stay fresh ziplock closure which I really appreciate! I also appreciated the directions right on the package. While most teas call for 1 teaspoon of loose tea brewed at 100 degrees, some called for a heaping teaspoon and each had a recommended brew time which was really helpful. Also, some teas need to be brewed at a lower temperature so it was nice having that info handy. Since I am still learning about teas I’m not sure which ones contain caffeine and which do not. It’s clearly stated on the description of each tea on the website but I wish this info was also on the packet so I didn’t have to look up each one.
I’ll get the bad news out of the way — the first tea I tried was Key Lime Herbal and I wasn’t a fan. It had a weird smell and aftertaste. It just wasn’t my thing. The good news is the rest of the Adagio Teas I have tried have been excellent. I knew I’d love the Chai Teas because it’s my favorite type of tea — I just love the smell and flavors of Chai teas and these did not disappoint! The Roobios Chai Vanilla is my favorite — I honestly don’t taste any vanilla but this one has CLOVE which is probably my favorite spice every. The Raja Oolong Chai is also delicious with a milder and more cinnamon-y flavor.
In addition to the Chai Teas, I’ve got a couple more favorites. In the evenings I’ve been enjoying Blood Orange. I wish I could have captured the true, vivid color of this tea because it is beautiful! It’s good as is but tonight I tried it with a little bit of Cinnamon Inclusion and it was so yummy! Adagio sells some spices separately so if you like a certain spice, you can add more of it to your favorite loose teas. You’ll find it in the “pantry” section of the website. I also got some amber sugar crystals which are great for sweetening up your tea a bit.
Another one at the top of my favorites list is the peach tea. It is SO good! I like to brew it, let it cool down and then drink it iced! It’s so refreshing. Speaking of iced tea, I ordered the Berries Iced Teas set. It comes with three sample pouches in a pretty box.
Unlike my other sample pouches which contained loose tea, these pouches each contained two brew bags. Each brew bag makes one quart. This set comes with Wild Strawberry Iced Tea, Berry Blast Iced Tea and White Blueberry Iced tea. All of them smell and taste delicious, especially when sweetened and are perfect for summer!
We are in the dead of summer but when I saw this adorable holiday gift set I couldn’t pass it up! It comes with six 1 oz tins in the following flavors: Gingerbread Tea, Candy Apple Tea, Pumpkin Spice Tea, Cranberry Tea, Chestnut Tea and Candy Cane Tea. The tins may be tiny but they hold a lot of tea! Especially when one teaspoon is enough to brew a cup of tea!
The Holiday Cheer gift set (only $14!) makes a great gift as-is or can be split up and paired with a cute mug for teacher gifts during the holidays.
These are just a few of the teas I got in my order and have sampled. I like the ones I’ve tried so much I keep going back to them instead of trying some of the other ones I got! I have opened them all though to smell them and I can tell I’m going to love them just as much. Still left to try: Coconut, Blackberry and White Tropics.
Did you know that depression levels in people who drink tea are much lower than in those who do not? Tea contains mood-boosting antioxidants and can help relief life stresses. For many, the ritual of brewing tea is as relaxing as drinking it. I’ve found useful to unwind before bed with a cup of hot tea. I’ve also found I am in a better mood when I drink a cup of tea in the morning!
Adagio has a great selection of teas and an even better website. The teas are rated and you can read lots of reviews from customers to get an idea of what you might like. Each tea has a detailed description too — you’ll want to try them all! Adagio also offers Teaware. I recommend the ToasTea. I have something similar and it works great for brewing loose tea and keeping it hot. It’s great for travel!
Be sure to browse the site for some really cool stuff including caffeine-free Fairy Tale Tea (more adorable tins!) perfect for child’s tea parties, and Fandom Blends created by tea lovers that come is super awesome themed tins — SO worth checking out for a unique, thoughtful gift idea!
