Review & Giveaway: Who Will Rule Story Book App for iPhone

I don’t know how many times my iPhone has “saved” me by providing my children a form of entertainment.  Most recently, I got an extra 30 minutes at my nephew’s high school graduation with a story book app called “Who Will Rule”.  We have several story books, but none as interactive as Who Will Rule.  The story is based on an Australian aboriginal fable about animals and the ecosystem.  The story starts off with all of the animals cohabiting the earth peacefully.  But then the birds, fish and mammals start fighting over Who Will Rule.  The Duck Billed Platypus, who has traits from each group, puts an end to the debate once and for all.

Hand drawn illustrations merge Indian and Aboriginal folk ark and characters and objects that become animated when you touch them bring the story to life.  You can make the earth rotate and clouds rain with the touch of your finger and fish, birds and other animals will “talk” when they are selected.

Options within the app include:

• Choice of 4 languages – English, French, Spanish and German
• Record the story in your voice
• Change narrator’s tone – 5 different options
• Fun sounds and animations
• “Read to Me” – Listen to the narrated story
• “I Read” – Read the book at your own pace with plenty of stopovers to play with the creatures

The story was engaging and held a good message.  My son enjoyed all of the interactive features and really got a kick out of making the clouds rain.  I am sure this story will be read over and over again and is definitely worth the price of the download.
