My son was baptized this past Sunday. About 20-30 of our friends and relatives came to enjoy and celebrate with us. It was SO hot out at over 90 degrees, but it felt like 102 with the humidity. It was the perfect time to try smoothies using Dole Frozen Fruit. The day was so hectic and I had the smoothies planned for after lunch was devoured, but since it was so hot out, everyone wanted the smoothies right away. So, I pulled out my wonderful blender and went to work!
We enjoyed a Pineapple Berry Smoothie. It was a huge hit! Here is a picture (above) of my two sisters-in-law enjoying their smoothies. I forgot pineapple juice in the first batch I made, but I heard it was really good. Those that tried both batches said the ones with the pineapple juice were better though. The cups were such a great hit with the kids that they almost forgot we were even having smoothies! Here is the recipe we used for the Pineapple Berry Smoothies:
Ingredients
- 1 can (20 oz.) DOLE® Crushed Pineapple, undrained
- 1 cup vanilla nonfat yogurt
- 1 medium, ripe DOLE Banana, quartered
- 1 cup DOLE Pineapple Juice
- 1/2 cup DOLE Fresh Frozen Strawberries or Raspberries
- 1/2 cup ice cubes
Directions
- Combine crushed pineapple, yogurt, banana, pineapple juice, strawberries and ice cubes in blender or food processor container. Cover; blend until smooth. Garnish with strawberry and banana slice, if desired.
