The December Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box is unbelievable! It’s pretty amazing the value each month’s recipe box holds but this month’s especially blew me away. If you are interested in essential oils or more natural options for your family’s health and wellness (and beauty!), the Simply Earth subscription box is an excellent way to build your collection of oils and learn how to use them in a variety of ways.
Every month you’ll get 4 full sized oils, 6 recipe cards, extras to help you make the recipes and sticker labels to help you keep your collection organized and your creations professional looking. December’s box is Gift Giving themed. You get the following oils:
- Mandarin
- Pine Scotch
- Peppermint
- Candy Cane Blend
Plus 2 lip balm containers, tin, and spray bottle for the bonus items. Recipes include sugar scrub, salve, room spray, lip balm, a Christmas inspired diffuser blend and a congestion roll-on.
When you order your first box you’ll receive a BONUS BOX for FREE! This box contains commonly used ingredients and supplies you’ll use with recipes in future boxes. My box contained 6 roller bottles, 6 dropper bottles, coconut oil, almond oil, solid coconut oil and beeswax.
I’m always excited about the recipes that come with the box because I want to be able to actually use my oils beyond just diffusing them and making my house smell great. The recipes are always really easy and I love the end results! I can keep the recipe cards and use them later to make another batch or even to make gifts! This month’s recipes are designed for gift giving and can be doubled or tripled to make multiple gifts at once!
Every box comes with a diffuser blend recipe using the oils from that month’s box. You can try the single recipe in your diffuser and if you like it, use the recipe for a master blend. This month’s blend is called Christmas Candy. The 5ml bottle from your Bonus Box is the perfect size for master blends and the label makes it look just like the rest of your oils! Just add 1-3 drops of your master blend to your diffuser rather than creating the recipe each time you want to use it.
Citrus Christmas Room spray is quick and easy to make and makes a great hostess gift. I wouldn’t have thought of putting citrus and pine together but it smells great!
The Peppermint and Pine salve is great as a chest rub for cold relief making it perfect for the winter months. This recipe takes a few minutes to make since you have to measure and melt beeswax and coconut oil. If you don’t have a double boiler you can still make this recipe. I used a microwavable glass dish and 15 second intervals until the oils were melted. Then you just add in your essential oils, pour into a tin and let it cool to become a solid again.
A nice pairing with the salve is the Cold Buster Roll-On. I love roll-ons because they are easy to use anytime, anywhere. They’re already diluted and can be kept in your purse for convenience! This is a blend that will get a lot of use during the holiday season to keep cold symptoms in check!
For the Mandarin & Coffee Scrub recipe you’ll need to find your own container. I got this one at a craft store for $1. You’ll also need ground coffee and sugar to make this recipe — these ingredients are not included in your monthly box or bonus box. There are a few recipes like this but most of the time they’re common household items you likely already have on hand or can easily find at your local grocery store.
Lip balms make great stocking stuffers or small gifts for just about anyone on your list. Think teachers, your mail carrier, babysitter etc. This month’s box came with two lip balm tubes but the recipe actually made enough for four. I had purchased a large amount on Amazon awhile back so I was able to use the whole recipe but only two with the cute labels!
Look at all the wonderful gifts I was able to make with this month’s box! I even forgot to include the Cold Buster Roll-on in the photo! These are fun gifts for stocking stuffers but would also make a really cool gift given together in a pretty gift box! There are so many cool things you can make with essential oils and Simply Earth makes it so easy to learn and do on your own!
Each month you’ll learn a little bit about the oils included in your box and how to use them. Feel free to think outside the box and create your own blends and recipes — have a little fun with it! Use oils from past boxes to create new things as your oil collection grows!
As you can see, Simply Earth subscription boxes have a wide variety of uses and will help you put your essential oils to use in ways you might not otherwise thought to! These are all suggested uses but each oil has many different benefits. Simply Earth educates you so they can be used properly. Information is included in your box but you can also find helpful blog posts and even more recipes on the Simply Earth website.
Essential oils can be expensive but Simply Earth makes it VERY affordable! A Simply Earth Recipe box is just $39 and always includes 4 full sized oils making them less than $10 per bottle. That’s a steal! Plus, the recipe box always comes with additional supplies and ensures you know exactly how to get the most out of your oils. They’re worth nothing if they just sit on your shelf unused!
