My oldest daughter has been really into Origami lately. I remember learning how to fold notes into fun patterns when I was her age so it’s been really fun to revisit those memories! For Easter she got a pad of Origami papers. It gives her a fun creative outlet while we are spending so much time at home. She’s really put her new skills to good use too! She made an adorable string of 3D paper stars to hang in her room.
When I saw this fun new craft book from Odd Dot called Secret Message Origami I knew that BOTH of my girls would love it! It was created for kids ages 8-12 (my girls are 9 & 11). Using inspiration from the ancient art of origami, this book contains a fold out illustrated guide that teaches you how to fold fancy disguised messages to share with friends. There are two different designs to learn.
After the fold out instructions, the rest of the book is filled with 150 ADORABLE origami papers. They are seriously cute! My youngest daughter has taken up letter writing. She writes notes and mails them to her auntie, grandma and great grandma. They are going to be surprised when they receive these special notes in the mail! I am sure it will bring an extra smile to their faces!
