It still feels awkward to me but masks are becoming the everyday norm. We don’t leave the house without one! There are all different styles of masks and it’s actually been kind of fun experimenting with them. They’re like the latest fashion accessory! Our latest ones are from Simple Satch. This brand was launched by by Corinne Daniels, a registered nurse on the frontlines, Susie Levitt, a product expert, and Chaiah Delouya, a fashion designer and mom of three, while in quarantine. Their main product is a stylish, hands-free infection resistance kit that every mom needs!
As a mom trying to protect her family, I also never leave the house without hand sanitizer and wipes. We use hand sanitizer a lot and I like having the wipes to wipe down our phones and frequently touched surfaces like the steering wheel in my car. The Simple Satch keeps all of these important things organized and at the ready in a stylish and functional belt bag that features a hidden yet convenient dispenser. The patent-pending rubber port on the exterior allows you to pull the sanitation wipes through the outside of the bag. You can purchase the Simple Satch separately for $38 or choose the Simple Starter Kit which includes the bag, antibacterial wipes, alcohol based sanitizer and a non-medical grade face mask and filter for $50. The hands-free design makes good hygiene effortless, all while helping resist contamination to the interior compartment and personal belongings.
The face masks are available in a variety of colors and prints including blush, grey, black, camo and bandana print with more designs to be added in the future. Simple Satch sent my family a couple of masks to try and we were quite pleased with them! They have a built-in metal nose bridge for a snug fit and the easily adjustable ear elastics make the sizing versatile enough to fit both myself and my youngest daughter. These masks have pretty full coverage. They’re comfortable to wear but come up a little closer to my eyes than I prefer.
These masks feature an built-in pocket for a replaceable filter. They come with one filter and more can be purchased on the website. The filters themselves are not reusable and it is recommended that they be replaced every 7 days or so. Personally, for our particular needs, a filter isn’t really necessary. We are socially distancing, even with masks on. If we were in more enclosed spaces I’d use the filter but currently aren’t typically in those types of environments so I’ve put the filters aside for later use.
The masks are washable. It is recommended that they be hand washed with medium-high heat and line dried to prevent shrinking. Unless our masks are visibly dirty we like to set them in the sun for a few hours and just rotate the ones we wear.
