I’ve noticed a trend this year. Many people are getting into the Christmas spirit a lot earlier than usual as a way to combat the COVID blues. Many are putting up their tree, going all out on their outdoor holiday decor and turning up the Christmas music long before Thanksgiving as even arrived!
I’m not completely onboard that train. Normally I struggle to get the tree up or the decor out of storage until mid December because we are usually so busy! We are in a new house this year though and my schedule isn’t as full so I’m prepared to get going on holiday stuff as soon as the turkey is put away!

Actually, I’ll be honest. I couldn’t resist putting up this inflatable waving Santa from Joie Domi. He’s 6 foot tall and lights up so you can see him in the dark. I love holiday inflatables because they are a super easy way to decorate. Just plug them in and within a minute or so, they come to life! They have tie downs which I recommend using because a breeze will knock them right over. Still, even staking them down, your yard will be looking festive with hardly any effort which is definitely my style!

You can even use the inflatables in the house in which case you won’t even have to stake it down! I absolutely adore this waving Santa and hope to add to our collection soon. There are lots of styles to choose from including a snowman, pandas, penguins, gingerbread men and more. If you want a lot of holiday spirit without a lot of effort, this is definitely the way to go! Maybe you’ll feel more festive and be able to get into the Christmas spirit with a light up sweater! While you might be forgoing the Ugly Sweater Christmas party this year, you can still indulge at home. It’s a great way to keep a sense of humor and a fun way to stay cozy spice up your next zoom meeting! I love this reindeer ugly sweater with light bulbs. The Christmas lights and Rudolph’s nose light up with the click of a button! How fun is that? Last but not least, interactive advent calendars can help you feel festive leading up to the big day. It’s not too late to pick up a super fun advent calendar from Joyin. I can’t wait to give this Mochi Squishies one to my daughter. Normally we just do the basic chocolate Advent calendar but Joyin has SO many more fun options. Starting on December 1, my daughter will open a door to reveal a soft and squishy holiday mochi to play with! You can find this and other super fun advent options for kids at www.joyin.co/collections/advent-calendars.
Even if you aren’t quite feeling it this year (completely understandable), these are three easy ways to get into the holiday spirit and add some cheer to your homelife. I encourage you to do something to enjoy the holidays this year. I know it’s not the year we are hoping for but we can still make the best of it!
