Since I am almost 30 weeks pregnant, I was already using a pregnancy app for my iPhone when I was approached to review the iPregnancy app. Having something to compare it to was helpful. While the two apps were very similar, iPregnancy had some added features that my free app did not including a baby name picker (we had already picked our names using the Most Baby Names app so we didn’t really use this), OB visit tracker and 3-D ultrasound images. Each week it also told the survival rate and chance of complications if the baby was born early. Both apps had the option of adding a picture each week so you can see the progression of your growing belly. I was not able to figure out how to work the iPregnancy one however so this feature went unused. Other than that, the app was easy to use and provided me with fun and useful information about my pregnancy. Since the app was not free, I thought it could have used a few more additional features like a contraction timer and a kick counter. Most of the additional features that it did have were not something that I would use, That being said, I’m not sure I would pay the $4.99 fee as the comparisons to the two and the features I would use were nearly identical.
