Keen Distribution makes several innovative products for children and babies. We were recently given the opportunity to try out several of them. The first, Jackson Reece Herbal Baby Wipes, immediately caught my attention because my first born’s name is Jackson and Mindy’s first born’s name is Reese. Each 72 count package of bio-degradable wipes which are packaged in a soft, degradable dispenser, features a mild cleansing formula containing natural ingredients derived from vegetable and plant extracts. The wipes are free of alcohol, parabens, chlorine, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, lanolin and phthalates. A blend of organic tea tree oil, aloe vera and lavender essential oil give the wipes a fresh, pleasant fragrance however I find tea tree oil to be too strong and somewhat of an irritant on my children’s sensitive skin.
I replaced our normal wipes with a package of Jackson Reece wipes at our changing table. I didn’t tell my husband that I was reviewing them, nor did I ask his opinion, but he gave it to me anyways. He said “Those wipes suck. They are way too small”. I compared them to our usual wipes (fragrance free Huggies) and they are almost the same size. The Jackson Reece Wipes are thinner however and feel quite a bit less substantial when cleaning up a mess. I wouldn’t buy these wipes because although the package says they are hypo-allergenic and safe for children with eczema, I still found them to be a bit irritating on my children who both have red hair and extremely sensitive skin and we prefer to use fragrance-free. Technically, the Jackson Reece Wipes do not have any added fragrance but the ingredients used do have a pleasant but strong odor.
Kids get bumps and bruises on almost a daily basis. Sometimes the “owie” is invisible to mommy but still very much a reality to the little one. If a kiss and a hug doesn’t do the trick, a Coolkidz probably will. Coolkidz are cold packs that contain a unique combination of gel that stays soft and flexible even when frozen. The edges and surface of the pack are soft making it a gentle treatment for a variety of ailments such as scrapes, bruises, insect bites and fever. Coolkidz are PVC and BPA free and provide up to thirty minutes of cooling relief. Best of all, they are reusable! Available in several fun shapes and colors, Coolkidz retail for $4.99. We haven’t had the chance to use Coolkidz yet (knock on wood) but I’ve got them ready in the freezer because I know that with a one year old and a three year old, a “boo-boo” is bound to happen at any moment!
Pop Pals are ice pop holders made from FDA food grade material used to help keep little hands from getting too cold while enjoying their icy treat. Pop Pals are PVC-free, phthalate-free and BpA-free. They are dishwasher and freezer safe too! Pop Pals fit most major brands of ice pops. Just thread the pop through the mouth of the lizard. Children can hold onto it, keeping their hands protected from the cold. As they eat the ice pop, the Pop Pal can be slid up the packaging, pushing the ice pop towards the opening and into their mouths. As you can see, my children enjoyed their Pop Pals though my one year old either didn’t quite get it or wanted to cool off her hot little hands 🙂
