Alex Toys is known for their large selection of children’s toys. Dylan’s Candy Bar is the largest state-of-the-art sweets emporium. They’ve teamed up with to create a selection of craft activities inspired by sweets. All of the products in the line up get the creative juices flowing (and your mouth watering), from the Candy Wrapper Jewelry Set to the Collage a Candy Frame. The Color a Yumbrella allows you to personalize a preprinted umbrella with 6 weatherproof markers. The 48 page hardcover My Sweet Diary comes with 104 stickers and gems and 15 ribbons to customize it and make it your own. It also comes with 1 lock and 2 keys and a marker. All products in the collaboration range from around $10-$20.
Mindy and I both love a good craft project and these items are not only fun, but functional too! Since our refrigerators are already covered with art projects from the kids it’s nice to have ones that can actually be used! Items such as these are always a hit as birthday gifts too and the prices are really reasonable.
Alex Toys has also recently launched a new app for the iPhone called Moody Monster Manor.
“Create your own monsters, play fun and exciting games, win monster merit badges, or meet the 20 monsters through the Moody Monster audio tour.
Moody Monster Manor is a place to learn about dealing with emotions through engaging and interactive games — Zap Scared Sam’s bad dreams with your magical monster flashlight or whip up a pot of Stinky Sneaker Stew for Hungry Hank. Help Confused Carl throw a Monsterific party or show your brainy side by breezing through Worried Wanda’s homework.
Whether you’re making the monsters a silly snack, rescuing them from a nightmare or helping them with homework, you’re always taking care of your Moody Monster friends and helping them solve their problems.”
Made for ages 3-6, my son who is turning 4 at the end of the week really enjoyed this app. As a parent, I like this app too. Children can learn about emotions, colors, animals and matching while having fun at the same time. We loved the brightly colored monsters. Jackson’s favorite game was designing his own Monster by selecting different features such as nose, eyes, and mouth. You can design your own monster too with these free printable monster coloring pages! You can also download the app for free at iTunes.
