There’s so much hype of adult coloring these days but let’s not forget about the kids! Barron has recently released a few activity books for kids that rival adult titles. In fact, I was slightly jealous of my kids with these books and may or may not have joined in and enjoyed them just as much as they did!
Towards the end of the school year my son’s teacher introduced the class to “extreme dot-to-dots”. He’s been asking me to buy him a book for awhile now but Barron’s Challenging Dot-to-Dot is even better! This book is filled with over 70 puzzles. They start out easy with as little as 100 dots and get harder with up to 1,000 dots. Every picture has a set time challenge for kids to beat. My son absolutely LOVED this. He used my phone’s stop watch and tried to beat the clock. When completed, the pictures can be colored in to add even more fun.
We took this book in the car on our 4th of July trip and it kept the kids busy. They continued to play with it with their cousins when we arrived at our destination. To say this book was a hit would be an understatement. I hope these books will continue to be released!
We also really enjoyed Cool & Calm Coloring for Kids in “Fabulous Animals” and “Magical Designs”. The Fabulous Animals book featured intricate designs to color with a variety of animals. The Magical Designs book was extra fun because it included color-by-numbers and challenging connect-the-dots with lots of awesome designs to color.
