As a BzzAgent, I got a chance to try 2 of the the new CoverGirl Blast products- ShadowBlast and ShineBlast Lip Gloss. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Smokey ShadowBlast. Part of the reason was probably because of the color I received- Tempest Blue. The product is made to use almost like a crayon for easy application. Unfortunately, it didn’t go on as smoothly as it looked like it would. The texture of the product isn’t as smooth and creamy as I would have liked in a product like this. The ShineBlast Lip Gloss on the other hand, I absolutely love. I keep it in my purse and use it all of the time. On the CoverGirl website it’s described:
Light reflecting shimmer layered under a high-gloss finish gives you 4x more noticeable shine*. Plus, our breakthrough applicator, the ShineSculpt™, hugs the curves of your lips for a sculpted shimmer behind the shine.
Yes, the lipgloss had some shimmer and a little shine though I wouldn’t call it high-gloss. The applicator was a normal sponge tipped applicator- nothing special though it was curved into a more pointy tip than most. What I liked best about the lip gloss was it’s smoothness. It felt light on my lips, not heavy and the color was perfect for every day wear.
I think I would have enjoyed the ShadowBlast a lot more if I had a different color to work with. There are a few combinations that are beautiful and the instruction video below demonstrates it’s use in a way that makes me want to go out and buy another tube just to see if I can get that effect.
