Valentine’s Day is come to mean a lot more to me than just romance. These days, Valentine’s Day is more about our love as a family. One of the best ways to show our children we love them is by spending time with them. We love snuggling up on our LoveSac with a pile of fun children’s books. It’s actually become something of a tradition to receive a special book on holidays. Valentine’s Day is no exception. In fact, it’s one of my favorite book giving holidays because the books are just so stinkin cute! Candlewick Press offers an adorable selection of books on the topic of love that are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Check them out below:
[amazon_image id=”0763661309″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Paul Meets Bernadette[/amazon_image]
[amazon_link id=”0763661309″ target=”_blank” ]Paul Meets Bernadette[/amazon_link] by Rosy Lamb — Before Paul meets Bernadette, all he does is swim in circles. Bernadette opens his eyes to the world around him, just outside their bowl. Life is much more colorful with a loved one to share it with! The painted illustrations in the book are simple but inspire the imagination. A teapot might be an elephant in the eyes of these two! I love the simplicity yet creativity of this book and my kids do too!
[amazon_image id=”076366104X” link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Dinosaur Kisses[/amazon_image]
[amazon_link id=”076366104X” target=”_blank” ]Dinosaur Kisses[/amazon_link] by David Ezra Stein — Newly hatched Dinah explores her world and finds so much to see and do. She tries stomping, then chomping and when she sees a kiss she knows she wants to try that next. But who can she kiss? Her hunt to find the right creature to kiss will have children giggling and cheering her on. Especially fun for the younger crowd, Dinah is very expressive with her chomping and stomping making this the perfect read-aloud book.[amazon_image id=”0763671320″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Forever (Emma Dodd’s Love You Books)[/amazon_image]
[amazon_link id=”0763671320″ target=”_blank” ]Forever[/amazon_link] by Emma Dodd — Perfect for a bedtime story, this book with it’s foil-embellished illustrations of a polar bear family delivers a beautiful message about the love between parent and child that lasts a lifetime. We didn’t receive this one for review but if it’s anything like the others, I’m sure it will be a hit!
[amazon_image id=”1935179594″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Hearts (Toon)[/amazon_image]
[amazon_link id=”1935179594″ target=”_blank” ]Hearts[/amazon_link] by Thereza Rowe — This unique story is told with very few words and lots of visuals as the reader follows Penelope and her heart after the Fox drops her heart into the sea. The journey reveals what is truly precious. The quirky illustrations grabbed my five year old’s attention. I prefer books with more of a written story than ones where the reader must fill in the blanks. That being said, my kids actually like “reading” this one on their own.
[amazon_image id=”0763666564″ link=”true” target=”_blank” size=”medium” ]Never Too Little to Love[/amazon_image]
[amazon_link id=”0763666564″ target=”_blank” ]Never Too Little To Love[/amazon_link] by Jeanne Willis — this clever book features specially styled cut-away pages to help illustrate the story. Tiny Too-Little loves someone that is very tall. When Tiny want’s a kiss, he has to find a way to reach. He stacks items to boost his height but his pile becomes dangerously precarious as it grows higher. The story demonstrates that you’re never too little (or too big) to love. This one is probably my favorite as my youngest is tiny for her age and it reminds me of her. It’s super cute and we love the unique cut-out pages that help illustrate the story.
Choose one or choose them all but don’t forget to innscribe the inside over with a heartfelt message and the date for the perfect Valentine gift.
