We’ve lived in our house for nearly 7 years now and I am STILL working on the “decor”. I have some art hung but some walls have been painfully blank for far too long. There’s one wall in particular that I’ve had big plans for. I’m getting really close to finally being able to hang my “gallery wall”. I’ve been collecting canvases and frames as well as some more interesting pieces to hang together in a large wall collage. My latest piece came from Canvas Factory. They’re a great resource for quality canvas photo prints.
Canvas Factory will take your favorite photos and turn them into canvas portraits, preserving them and giving you an artistic way to display them, all for an affordable price! It’s not very often that my family of 5 all makes it into a picture together so when we do, it’s pretty special to me. We took a family vacation last March and had a photo snapped of us at the top of the Haleakala Crater in Hawaii. Canvas Factory enlarged it for me and created a 16 x 20 canvas. I love the way it turned out.
The Canvas Factory website is really easy to use. You just pick what you want, upload your photo, arrange it how you want and select your options: Gallery Wrap, Mirror Wrap or Colored Wrap. You then have the option to choose an effect. This is really fun if you want to play around with an artistic look like black and white, sepia or a color tinted image. You can also add text if you’d like. I kept it pretty simple with a gallery wrap and original color photo with no text.
The photo is printed on high quality gsm stretched across a 1.2″ frame and comes ready to hang. I have other photo canvases and none of them are as nicely finished on the back as this one. The ones I have from other sources just have an open back that exposes the framework. This is a much nicer quality with hardware that makes it easy to hang.
This is my hallway where my new gallery wall will eventually be located. I hung my canvas up there for now because I couldn’t wait to display it. I just need a few smaller pieces and I’ll be ready to add to and rearrange these pieces for a much more interesting display. I can’t wait!
