Casio CTK-2400 Sound EFX Keyboard
The hubs and I are not very musical. We enjoy music but don’t have a talent for it. My oldest daughter is 5. She, like most other girls her age, loves to sing. And the girl can carry a tune! She might be a little young for piano lessons but I don’t think it’s too early to introduce her to the keyboard and let her have some fun experimenting with it. And she will have a lot of experimenting to do with Casio’s new CTK-2400 Sound EFX sampler. With 400 AHL keyboard voices including steel guitar, fantasy fairy bells, and 12 string guitar to name a few her creativity won’t be limited. In fact, you can even use the built-in microphone to record samples which can be integrated into one of the 150 rhythms.
While this keyboard might be a little advanced for a child, it is designed for beginners with onboard learning tools. There are 110 built-in songs you can play along with or you can plug in your device to play along with your own music library.
The Sound EFX Keyboard Operates on 6 AA batteries but also (thankfully!) includes an AC Adapter. These are just a few of the features of the keyboard which features 61 keys with 48-note polyphony (the number of notes or voices that can be played simultaneously without loss). You learn something new everyday, right?
This is a great starter keyboard for people of all ages but for those who are a little more advanced a keyboard with touch sensitivity might be more desirable. The price is right, too! It sells on Amazon for only $99.99 shipped.
This should hold me off of having to buy a real piano for awhile but will, in the long run, probably make it much more likely to become a piano owner. As long as she’s happy…..
