I’ve always thought chalkboard are was really cool but had never really thought about trying it myself. Chalkola, an art supply company that specializes in chalk products, reached out to me and asked if I’d like to review a couple of items so it was the perfect opportunity to give it a try!
They sent me a special bundle which included a pack of 30 chalk markers and a magnetic chalkboard. The rustic style chalkboard is the perfect size for a table top and has an easel like stand. I was pretty excited about the markers because they offer a wide range of colors! That really opens up the world of chalkboard art and offers limitless design options!
Another cool thing about the markers is that they have 6mm reversible tips. One side has a rounded tip and if you pull it out, flip it over and stick in back in, you’ll get a chisel tip making these markers super versatile for all your artistic needs! You can use them on any non porous surface and they are kid safe, Xylene & Odor Free!
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to make so I browsed Pinterest for some ideas. I saw some really cute cactuses that I wanted to try and a “Life is Better in..” lettering that looked pretty simple so I came up with my “Life is Better in the Desert” design. We don’t live in the desert and I didn’t have as much room for cactus designs as I had hoped but I still think it came out pretty well for my first try!
The great thing is, the chalkboard is easily washable so if you make a mistake you can just erase it with a damp paper towel. And if you want to change your design all together, just wipe the whole slate clean!
This board is magnetic but it didn’t come with any magnets. I want to get a few cute magnets to make this board even more versatile. It will be fun to pin up some snapshots and doodle around them for a cute photo display. I can see myself putting several of these around the house, especially since they are so affordable!
