Meijer is introducing a new product line to it’s stores in an effort to provide consumers affordable “green” options when purchasing everyday household items. They are scheduled to be available in stores February 22. I was given an opportunity to try two of those products.
Citrus Spray Cleaner
This is a multi-purpose citrus based cleaner that comes in a 17 oz spray bottle. I tested it out in the kitchen and was quite surprised by how well it cuts grease. I used it on my counter tops, stove top, even the floor! It worked nicely on all of these surfaces. I was expecting a citrus scent in this product but it didn’t have much scent at all which was fine by me! I would honestly recommend this product to anyone. I was impressed with it’s effectiveness and love that it is safe to use around children and pets.
Liquid Laundry Detergent
This laundry detergent works with both front loading and top loading washing machines. It comes in a 33.8 oz squeeze bottle and only 3-5 tablespoons are needed per load. This product contains eucalyptus oil which gives it a slightly medicinal smell during use but could not be detected once clothes were washed and dried. This detergent seemed to work well for me. I haven’t had any stains to test it on yet but my regular loads have come out clean. I like that you only have to use a small amount per load. The first time I tried it, I used 5 tablespoons for a large load but probably should have used less.
I’ve found that green cleaning products are just as effective, if not more so, than traditional products. They are better for the environment and safe for your family. Ecostore products are made with plant and mineral based ingredients and are free of toxic chemicals. They are also environmentally safe in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint. Their cleaners are highly concentrated so a little goes a long way therefore cutting down on the cost per use.
A coupon for these new Ecostore products will be available soon. Please be sure to check back with Mommies with Cents as we will post the link as soon as it’s ready.
