My oldest daughter loves being independent. She’s 10 and LOVES to create in the kitchen. Our lives are super busy and I know that I sometimes hold her back a bit because I don’t want to deal with the mess or have to rush through a project due to time constraints. On the other hand, teaching her valuable skills in the kitchen ultimately helps a mom out in the end! Not only can she take care of some of her own meals, she can help prepare meals for the family. At times it’s been a lifesaver!

I love that the recipes share upfront how long they will take to make and bake so you can plan accordingly.
I also love that the step by step instructions include pictures. This is really helpful! My daughter is a very visual person and sometimes doesn’t read recipes thoroughly enough before she starts but the pictures give her visual cues that help her plan ahead.
Extra info is included on recipes which encourage more reading and learning. Cooking and baking are also great for math lessons and especially great for kids who find it harder to grasp concepts out of a book but instead learn better by real world situations. I know fractions make a lot more sense to me if I think of them in terms of recipes!
This book would make such a great gift either on it’s own or paired with some baking tools, an apron, etc. Christmas will be here before we know it! Grab this great book for your favorite little chef!
