I have heard about the health benefits of honey but I had no idea that it was available in a variety of grades for it’s potency. Comvita is a New Zealand honey brand that offers certified UMF Manuka Honey, a simple, single-ingredient food. It can be used in a variety of ways including:
- Ingested for digestive and immune health support (Great for allergy season!)
- Added to tea, toast or smoothies – or any of your food faves – as a daily superfood for natural energy (a natural high, without the low)
- Included as part of your daily beauty routine (natural face masks, anyone?)
- Manuka Honey is known to help soothe coughs and sore throats.
Comvita Certified UMF 5+ Authentic Manuka Honey (MGO 83), comes from the nectar of the Manuka flower in the pristine forests of New Zealand.UMF measures the three signature compounds (Leptosperin, MGO and DHA) found in genuine Manuka Honey. Traceable from hive to shelf, each BPA-free jar of creamed Comvita Manuka Honey is non-GMO, Halal, and Kosher certified.
We had the pleasure of trying Manuka honey. It has a pretty distinct and sweet flavor. My kids and I enjoyed a bit on our peanut butter sandwiches but I’m looking forward to trying it in hot tea. I love that it offers such great health benefits and is a great natural sweetener. There’s a lot to learn about honey and the Comvita website provides lots of background and info on it’s honey. It’s pretty interesting! You can find out more at Comvita.com.
