When I saw this chalkboard wall calendar at Decor Designs Decals I knew I had to have it. With three kids in sports and two busy parents we needed a large visual like this to keep us organized. Like most people these days, I do use a sharable online calendar that is color coded and quite functional but I loved the idea of an oversized wall calendar for quick visual reminders, especially for my kids.
I knew exactly where I wanted to put this wall decal. We leave everyday through the garage and this wall space just off the kitchen right next to the door we leave through was the perfect size and perfect location.
With decals this large it is suggested as a two person job. I agree! I didn’t even attempt to apply this decal without a friend helping me. With her help though, it was a pretty quick and easy job and I was quite pleased with the results! You just peel off the backing, apply the transfer paper on the wall where you want it and use a credit card to rub across it for better application. Then you peel off the transfer paper and you’re left with a beautiful, professional looking wall decal!
Decor by Design’s chalkboard wall calendar decals are available in a variety of sizes. The year numbers are even available in different colors. Each wall calendar comes with extra numbers so you can change the year as time progresses. The name of the month and days can be written in each new month with chalk. I tried chalk markers as well as traditional chalk — both will work but I found regular chalk a bit easier to use. The wall that I applied the calendar decal to has a slight texture that comes through when you write on the decal surface. If you have a super smooth surface for your calendar, it’s probably best but a bit of texture wasn’t enough to ruin my wall chalkboard decal experience.
