Until a few weeks ago I had never heard of Dickey’s Barbecue Pit. Boy was I missing out. I had the opportunity to try one of their Holiday Feast Meals and I have to say, this is really the way to go for big holiday gatherings. They are only available during the holidays as a special.
You can get the entire meal for only $109.95. We easily fed 6 adults, 2 teens and 3 kids with tons of food left over. We are enjoying the leftovers tonight! I placed my order a few days ago and it was ready to pick up at the specified time. The people at Dickey’s packaged everything up nicely and even offered to help me out to my car.
These bags are super sturdy. My four year old even used one of them for a sack race around the living room without breaking it! They can hold a lot of weight!
The Barbecue Honey spiral ham was cooked to perfection. You could actually just pull slices right from the bone and it tasted delicious!
The only thing we added to our meal was deviled eggs. Our family can’t have a holiday meal without them! The side dishes came in aluminum dishes with lids. They were hot and ready to eat. Had this been an actually holiday I probably would have put the food in some nice serving dishes. After a long day though we were hungry and just wanted to dig in! It was so nice not having to cook but having a delicious, hot meal ready to be devoured!
Everyone loved the meal. The rolls and the potatoes got extra kudos. And the ham of course. The corn bread stuffing is a little bit different than what we traditionally eat so it was the least loved but still got eaten with “good, just different”. The pans might not look that big but they hold a LOT of food. It was nice to be able to put the lids back on and pop the leftovers into the fridge.
Dickey’s also offers the holiday feast with Cajun-Fried Turkey or Smoked turkey. You can order the meats separately if you’d like and there is another option that includes the whole turkey of your choice plus cornbread dressing & gravy, and rolls.
Even if you aren’t shopping for a holiday meal, pop in to Dickey’s for lunch or dinner. Kids eat free on Sundays and they have free ice cream every day! They were totally worth the drive for us and I am definitely keeping them in mind for the future. I thought the Holiday Feast was an exceptional value!
