May is Allergy and Asthma awareness month. I’ve suffered from allergies for almost as long as I can remember. When I first saw an allergist, they recommended removing carpet from the home, at the very least the bedroom you sleep in because allergens tend to collect and build up in carpeting. Now there are vacuum cleaners that are designed to drastically reduce allergens in your household. The Dyson DC65 is one of them and it’s certified by the Asthma and Allergy foundation of America.
Through May 10, 2014 you can get a FREE Dyson handheld with the purchase of select Dyson vacuums (including the DC65). This is a $199 value!
Our house is mostly hardwood with the exception of the master bedroom, living room and stairs so I like having a vacuum that works on both carpeting and hard surfaces. The Dyson DC65 was designed for a mixture of flooring types including carpet, hardwood, linoleum, tile, vinyl, stone and more. With twice the suction power of any other vacuum on the market, you’ll be getting the deepest clean possible. Dyson designed this vacuum with the whole house in mind, not just the flooring. Attachments make it easy to clean upholstery, dust other surfaces and get into corners.
Dyson vacuums are some of the most technologically advanced because Dyson invests millions of dollars each year in developing new technology for their products. This particular vacuum features Radial Root Cyclone technology to maximize suction power and separate large debris from microscopic particles
The brushbar features 25% more power and with it’s shorter, stiffer bristles aggravates carpet pile to remove more dust and dirt than ever before. The self-adjusting cleaner head ensures that there is a continuous seal for optimum suction not matter what type of floor surface you’re vacuuming.
On Thursday we celebrated my son’s 7th birthday. Birthdays in our house are the few times a year that my house gets a really thorough cleaning. The Dyson arrived on Friday, the day after I had vacuumed for the party. I couldn’t wait to try it out so I ran it in the living room. You can see from the picture above how much dirt and debris was removed in just one small room (that had already been vacuumed!) and we don’t even have pets!
The following are my favorite features of the Dyson Animal DC65 Vacuum:
- I love the design of the brush bar with the shorter bristles. The way they are spaced makes it super easy to clean — something I usually have a problem with because of all the long-haired girls in our family. The hair always gets wrapped around the brush bar and can be hard to remove — but not with the Dyson.
- The close edge pick up means I don’t have to do “edging” every time I vacuum. It does a great job of picking up debris along the edges of walls.
- I’m a huge fan of the instant release hose wand. I keep finding cobwebs in corners of my high ceilings and this feature makes it easy to suck them right up!
- Emptying the dust bin couldn’t be easier and cleaner. With the touch of a button you can release the dirt directly into the garbage. Plus, I won’t have to buy vacuum cleaner bags!
- Washable filters mean no expensive replacements!
- 5 Year Parts & Labor Warranty — 5 years worry free? Yes, please!
This vacuum is a little heavier than I’m used to but it’s still easy to maneuver and completely worth it for the cleaning power! It was easy to set up right out of the box and has everything I look for a in a vacuum including a long cord and small footprint for storage. You can pick one up right now at Target for $599.99 and get the Dyson Handheld ($199) for FREE!
