As a parent, I really appreciate games that aren’t only entertaining for the kids, but for the adults as well. Moving a pawn around a game board can get old fast. There are a few reasons I love Feed The Woozle, a new game by Peaceable Kingdom.
Feed the Woozle is a cooperative game from Peaceable Kingdom where everyone wins (how can you not like that?). The Woozle’s tummy is growling for some silly snacks. When players have fed him 12 snacks they can all celebrate their success in working together to satisfy the Woozle. Roll the die to determine the number of snacks to feed him (1-3), then spin the colorful spinner to find out how to deliver them using a large plastic spoon — will it be bunny hops, walking backwards or something equally as goofy? Be careful not to drop the snacks! Feed the Woozle comes with 24 silly snacks, a spoon, a die, a spinner and instructions for three different levels of play. In level 1, the youngest players practice basic counting. Once they’ve mastered that, level 2 adds gross motor movement. For older kids, level three builds even more cooperative skills by having them rely on guidance from teammates to find the Woozle because they’ll be playing with their eyes closed!
The best part about this game, for me, is watching the kids complete the silly tasks, giggling all the while. I love that it’s not played at the table, but rather a more active game where kids can get their wiggles out. Here’s a little clip of our first time playing the game:
Feed the Woozle retails for around $20 and is designed for ages 3-6.
