When people think of Seattle, two things probably come to mind: the Space Needle and rain. Living in the area I know that despite the rain, Seattle is one of the most beautiful places in the country. From the majestic mountains to the rolling waves of the ocean, the Seattle area has stunning natural beauty as well as great city sites! Speaking of sight, Transition Lenses is offering free vision screenings at the Washington Brewers Festival this weekend (June 15-17). In a partnership with Pearle Vision, Transition Lenses will have a booth set up at the event featuring the Ultimate Sightseeing Experience which includes the free screening and an opportunity to have your picture taken in front of a scenic backdrop.
Healthy vision is essential to see and enjoy the beautiful sights around us. That’s why my family is pledging to take care of our vision by signing the Family Eye Promise. You can too! Just click on the “Submit Your Promise” link and fill out the form. For each new promise submitted in 2012, Transitions Optical will donate a brand new book to mobile literacy initiative Bess the Book Bus to help children nationwide.
Without healthy vision, you cannot clearly see and enjoy the beautiful and amazing sights of your life. For us, that would include:
Playing on the beach at Guemes Island in the San Juans. We love combing the beach for agates and sifting through the sand to find miniature shells. Good eye sight a must!
Whale watching! Yes, there are actual Orca whales in both of the pictures above. You need good eye sight to spot the mist from their blow holes to locate them for a closer view!
This is the actual view from our backyard. There are plenty of days when the mountain isn’t visible due to clouds and fog. When the mountain is out, we want to be able to SEE it!
Most importantly, we want to be able to see and experience all of the beauty of where we live with our kids from Pike Place Market to Woodland Park Zoo, from the lakes, rivers and ocean beaches to the snowy mountains and everything in between.
What sights to you enjoy seeing with your kids? You can enter the Sight of the Day Photo Contest to win the Ultimate Sightseeing Dream Vacation by submitting a photo at http://www.seemoresights.com/SightOfTheDay.aspx. Whether it’s a breathtaking sunset or your child’s heartwarming smile, there are countless reasons we should never take for granted or undervalue the health of our eyes. $.25 for each photo uploaded will be donated to Optometry Giving Sight.
