Several years ago I got a George Foreman grill. I loved how fast, easy and healthy it was to cook on it but I hated how hard it was to clean. I’d actually put off planned meals that required using it just because I didn’t want to clean up afterwards. Then they came out with one with removable plates. Genius!
Still, the one we had worked just fine so I continued to use it occasionally. I couldn’t justify buying a new one just because of my laziness. I was so excited to have the opportunity to receive The George Foreman Removable Plate Grill for my review. It proved what I had expected all along — the investment would have been worth every penny!
The George Foreman Removable Plate Grill is only $29.92 at Walmart. The price is extremely reasonable and the time it saves me in clean up is priceless! Now we can grill every night of the week and I certainly won’t complain!
We love to grill but we live in the Seattle area where the weather is often not favorable for outdoor cooking. With the George Foreman Grill, grilling year-round is not a problem! The 4 serving grill is perfect for our family. It makes meals quick and easy while eliminating the need for oil or butter. Since it cooks the top and bottom at the same time, meals are literally ready in just minutes, even from frozen.
I purchase frozen boneless skinless chicken tenders from Costco which make it on our dinner menu at least once a week, usually more. I’m so busy in the mornings I often forget to take out and thaw the chicken so the Foreman Grill is a lifesaver on those days when I need to cook something quickly but I’ve forgotten to plan ahead.
The surface of the grill is at a slant so the fat and juices run off into a tray at the bottom. Don’t let that fool you though — everything I’ve ever made on this grill is tender and juicy. It always seems to cook perfectly which is something I normally have trouble with. Your food will be full of flavor but without all of the extra fat. George knew what he was doing when he invented this thing!
One of our favorite meals to make using the George Foreman Grill is Grilled Chicken Salad. I grill up a bunch of chicken tenders seasoned with Mrs. Dash Table Blend then slice them into small pieces. Normally we add an avocado, hard boiled egg and a little bit of crumbled bacon (which is also easy to cook on the grill!). Talk about a fast and healthy dinner!
Clean up is super easy because the plates unclip from the burners so I can give them a quick soak before wiping them off. They’re non-stick but they do have grooves for awesome grilling so each “channel” has to be wiped. It’s so much easier to do though without having to worry about the electric elements. I really wish I would have bought one of these sooner!
A complimentary product/service was provided for this review, however, all opinions expressed are my own. I was not compensated in any other way. See Mommies With Cents disclosure policy for more details.
